Havana Nights

The Agrupación supports Archbishop Wenski’s Havana Nights.

The Agrupación Católica Universitaria (ACU) participated in the annual Havana Nights charity event. This event supports Archbishop Wenski's vital Unaccompanied minors program, which provides a safe haven for undocumented immigrant children aged 0-17.

Formerly known as Boys Town, the program has been renamed Msgr. Bryan Walsh Children's Village in honor of its rich history. Established during Operation Pedro Pan by Msgr Walsh, Boys town cared for over 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children who arrived in the United States seeking refuge.

The Village offers a beautiful campus environment where up to 81 children can live, learn, and play. The ACU's participation in Havana Nights reflects our commitment to supporting Archbishop Wenski's ongoing mission and the well-being of these vulnerable young people.

A Personal Connection for Agrupados

Operation Pedro Pan holds particular significance for some ACU members. Several of our members themselves arrived as unaccompanied minors during Operation Pedro Pan and resided at Camp Matacumbe.  The ACU is honored to contribute to this important cause.

The event was held at the beautiful La Merced Peruvian museum on the grounds of Corpus Christi Church in Miami.
