Behind-the-scenes tour of Miami international Airport
A few students from the ACU University of Miami student group participated in a behind-the-scenes tour of Miami International Airport last Friday. The program began with a presentation by an engineer/planner from the aviation department. He went over some of the logistics and processes involved, as well as the future construction plans for the airport. There are two new terminals in the planning stages, he explained, at a cost of one billion dollars each.
The tour proceeded to the American Airlines maintenance facility and a close-up look and walk-through of a Boeing 777 being prepared for a flight to London that evening.
The tour ended with a visit to the cargo operation area.
