The ACU @ FIU

This past Monday, February 10th, the members of the FIU student group held their regular formation meeting at the ACU Miami Chapter led by Willie Cueto. The core group of five students were in attendance with an additional five new members. Willie led an in-depth presentation on the three pillars of the ACU and how each pillar presents in the life of an Agrupado. For instance, he stressed the importance of daily prayer, regular attendance at Mass and confession, and the yearly Spiritual Exercises. He noted the importance of striving to be a leader in your particular profession not just as a competent, cutting edge practitioner, but also the moral and ethical compass for your coworkers. Finally, he emphasized the characteristics of servant leadership and the need of every Agrupado to lead through service of the other.

After the meeting, the group then met at the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami for the Miami Heat versus Boston Celtics basketball game. The group was joined by some additional new recruits as well as Thomas Benson, the FOCUS missionary assigned to St. Agatha parish.  Fr. Luis Pavon is the associate pastor at St. Agatha Catholic Church, which operates the Catholic @ FIU campus ministry for FIU. We remain grateful for his support of the ACU and look forward to the continued growth of our collaboration.
