Memorial Service for Jorge Casteleiro
Last Thursday, July 27, 2023, Congregate Jorge Ignacio Casteleiro passed away during the morning hours. He graduated from Colegio de Belen in Havana, Boston College, and Georgetown University. He passed to Congregante on January 26, 1975, in Washington, D.C. He went on to serve as a Political Officer with the State Department for over 35 years. Jorge is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vivian Arias Casteleiro; two daughters, Vivian and Isabel; six grandchildren; and two sisters Margarita and María. Jorge Ignacio followed the footsteps of his father, Jorge Segundo Casteleiro Colmenares, to enter the Agrupacion. Jorge Segundo Casteleiro served as president of the ACU from 1950-1953, while Jorge Ignacio was just a young child. Jorge Segundo later served as Treasurer for the ACU in Miami. Jorge Ignacio was a yearly participant at the Spiritual Exercises in D.C. where he regularly attended Guardia and established strong bonds of friendships with the Agrupados. Let us pray for the repose of his soul and ask Our Lady to comfort his family.
There will be a brief visitation with the family on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., both at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 8601 Wolftrap Road SE, Vienna, Virginia 22182.
