EMMY Award Winning Filmmaker and Congregant Jose "Peps" Acosta Broadcasts His First Podcast “Seeing is Believing”.

ACU congregant and Class of '87 alum, Jose "Peps" Acosta, has taken a bold step beyond his renowned career in film and television by co-founding the nonprofit organization, Oculos Media Productions. In a remarkable collaboration with Army Ranger veteran Christopher, Acosta has ventured into the world of podcasting. The inaugural episode of his podcast, "Seeing Is Believing," is titled "Fear and Loving in Barbenheimer (Barbie and Oppenheimer)." This captivating debut promises to explore intriguing narratives and perhaps even challenge our perceptions, all under the skillful direction of a seasoned industry expert like Acosta. It's a testament to his commitment to diverse storytelling and engaging with a broad audience.

Peps is best known for the 2016 public television special Edgar Allan Poe's Mystery Theatre (now on Amazon Prime), which garnered him a 5th EMMY nomination for best writing, as well as a Telly award, and the prestigious 2021 Saturday Visitor award. He has also written and directed several award-winning short films, including Hey Zeus dramatizing the immigration crisis on the US-Mexican border.

José founded DoubleRaven Pictures in 2004. He is slated to direct several upcoming feature films in the DoubleRaven pipeline.
