ACU @ FIU

This past Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the FIU Aspirantado gathered at St. Agatha, home of the Catholic @ FIU campus ministry program, for another formation meeting. Dr. Carlos Moas led a presentation on gender ideology and gender dysphoria, examining the teachings of the Catholic Church and the challenges Catholic students may encounter regarding these topics on college campuses.

Throughout the discussion, Dr. Moas addressed the Church's understanding of human dignity, the human person, and the relationship between biological sex and gender. He encouraged students to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic teaching while considering how to engage in conversations about these sensitive issues with clarity, compassion, and respect. Particular attention was given to how Catholic college students can respond to differing perspectives on campus while remaining faithful to their religious convictions.

Also present were William Cueto, Instructor for the FIU Aspirantado, Seth Caraecle, the ACU's Management Administrator, and Matías Barbosa-García, the ACU's College Coordinator. The meeting provided students with an opportunity to examine contemporary moral and social questions through the lens of Catholic teaching and continue their intellectual and spiritual formation as young Catholic men.
