This past Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the Agrupación Católica Universitaria hosted another Holy Smokes gathering, bringing together Catholic fathers for an evening of fellowship, cigars, and dominoes. The event featured Brother Eric Lastres, S.J., founder of Esto Vir, the ACU's high school ministry, who was also a student at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School.
During his presentation, Brother Eric spoke about the important role fathers play in the lives of their children, emphasizing their responsibility to provide guidance, encouragement, and a strong example of faith within the family. His talk encouraged fathers to reflect on their influence in their children's development and the importance of remaining actively involved in their lives.
Also present was Fr. Mike Martinez, S.J., a longtime friend of the Agrupación, who offered a blessing for the gathering. The evening provided an opportunity for fathers to strengthen friendships, engage in meaningful conversations, and learn more about the ACU. Through gatherings such as Holy Smokes, the ACU continues to build a community of Catholic fathers committed to supporting one another in their family lives and faith.

El pasado miércoles, 4 de noviembre de 2026, la Agrupación Católica Universitaria organizó un nuevo encuentro de Holy Smokes, reuniendo a padres católicos para una noche de fraternidad, cigarros y dominó. El evento contó con la participación del Hermano Eric Lastres, S.J., fundador de Esto Vir, el apostolado de la ACU dirigido a estudiantes de secundaria, quien también fue alumno del Colegio Belén Jesuita.
Durante su presentación, el Hermano Eric habló sobre el importante papel que desempeñan los padres en la vida de sus hijos, destacando su responsabilidad de ofrecer orientación, apoyo y un sólido ejemplo de fe dentro de la familia. Su charla invitó a los padres a reflexionar sobre la influencia que tienen en la formación de sus hijos y la importancia de mantenerse activamente involucrados en sus vidas.
También estuvo presente el Padre Mike Martínez, S.J., amigo de la Agrupación, quien ofreció una bendición para el encuentro. La velada brindó una oportunidad para fortalecer amistades, compartir conversaciones y conocer más sobre la misión de la ACU. A través de encuentros como Holy Smokes, la Agrupación continúa fortaleciendo una comunidad de padres católicos comprometidos con apoyarse mutuamente en su vida familiar y en su fe.
