The ACU @ FIU

This past Monday, November 17th, the members of the FIU student group attended a social outing at the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami for the Miami Heat versus New York Knicks basketball game. Prior to the game, the group met up for pizza in downtown Miami. The group was joined by new recruits from FIU brought by Mitch Louwagie, the FOCUS missionary assigned to Florida International University. Fr. Luis Pavon is the Campus Minister for FIU and in residence at St. Agatha Catholic Church, which operates the Catholic @ FIU campus ministry for FIU. We remain grateful for his support of the ACU and look forward to the continued growth of our collaboration. Willie Cueto is the instructor for the group and was also in attendance. 

The following Tuesday, November 18th, the student group held their regular formation meeting at the Miami Chapter. The formation was led by Congregante Dr. Carlos Moas. Dr. Moas addressed the Catholic position on In-Vitro Fertilization, including the basics of the procedure, the Catholic moral position concerning the science, and the ethical implications of the procedure.
