The ACU @ Catholic Gators
This past Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Miami Chapter welcomed a contingent of the Catholic Gators campus ministry program from St. Augustine Catholic Church and Student Center in Gainesville, Florida, which serves the University of Florida. The team leading that aspirantado, congregants Andres Manrara, Gerry Portela, and Jay Velasco, organized the visit to draw ACU and Catholic Gators closer together. It was an opportunity for the leadership of Catholic Gators to spend time with our Director, meet Agrupados, experience the Guardia, and mingle with other members of Miami aspirantados. The visitors were Gio Franco, President of Catholic Gators, Jacob Averill, Chairman of the Men's Group, and Seth Caraecle, the Campus Minister. The three men also had an opportunity to meet with high school students from Belen and Columbus to discuss the campus ministry program at UF and similar programs in general throughout the university system. Congregante David Pernia organized the Belen meeting, and Congregante Ernie Leon organized the Columbus meeting. We continue to draw inspiration from the UF apostolate and look forward to continued growth.

El pasado martes 14 de abril de 2026, el Capítulo de Miami recibió a un contingente del programa de pastoral universitaria Catholic Gators de la Iglesia Católica y Centro Estudiantil de San Agustín en Gainesville, Florida, que sirve a la Universidad de Florida. El equipo que dirige este aspirantado, Congregantes Andrés Manrara, Gerry Portela y Jay Velasco, organizó la visita para estrechar los lazos entre ACU y Catholic Gators. Fue una oportunidad para que los líderes de Catholic Gators compartieran tiempo con nuestro Director, conocieran a los Agrupados, participare en la Guardia y confraternizaran con otros miembros de los aspirantados en Miami. Los visitantes fueron Gio Franco, Presidente de Catholic Gators, Jacob Averill, oficial del Grupo de Hombres, y Seth Caraecle, el Campus Minister. Los tres hombres también tuvieron la oportunidad de reunirse con estudiantes de Belén Jesuit y Columbus High School para hablar sobre el programa de pastoral universitaria en la UF y programas similares en general en todo el sistema universitario. Congregante David Pernia organizó la reunión de Belén, y Congregante Ernie León organizó la de Columbus. Seguimos inspirándonos en el apostolado de la UF y esperamos seguir creciendo.
