The ACU @ Catholic Gators
The team from the Miami Chapter traveled to Gainesville, Florida, this past Monday, February 23rd, for the second meeting of the spring semester with the men's group of the Catholic Gators ministry at the University of Florida through St. Augustine Catholic Church and Student Center. Congregants Andres Manrara, Gerry Portela, and Jay Velasco were in attendance with approximately 30 students of the men's group. Mr. Portela led the presentation on Ignatian Spirituality. On Tuesday morning, the aspirantado group gathered for the ACU instruction, which is a smaller subset of men derived from the men's group. As part of the trip, the team also visited the Deerhaven Retreat Center in Paisley, Florida, north of Orlando. The ACU is hosting a set of Spiritual Exercises at Deerhaven for the students the weekend of March 6-8, 2026, which will be led by Fr. Joseph Hill, S.J. with assistance from Eric Lastres, S.J.

El equipo del Capítulo de Miami viajó a Gainesville, Florida, el pasado lunes 23 de febrero para la segunda reunión del semestre de primavera con el grupo de hombres del ministerio de los Gators Católicos de la Universidad de Florida, a través de la Iglesia Católica de San Agustín y el Centro de Estudiantes. Los congregantes Andrés Manrara, Gerry Portela y Jay Velasco asistieron junto con aproximadamente 30 estudiantes del grupo. El Sr. Portela dirigió la presentación sobre Espiritualidad Ignaciana. El martes por la mañana, el grupo de aspirantes se reunió para la instrucción de la ACU, un subgrupo más pequeño de hombres provenientes del grupo. Como parte del viaje, el equipo también visitó el Centro de Retiros Deerhaven en Paisley, Florida, al norte de Orlando. La ACU está organizando una serie de Ejercicios Espirituales en Deerhaven para los estudiantes durante el fin de semana del 6 al 8 de marzo de 2026, dirigidos por el P.
