Passing of Congegante Jaime Prada
We were recently advised that Congregant Jaime Prada passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:55 p.m. Jaime was a consistent presence at the Miami Guardia on Tuesday evenings so it is fitting that he passed on that night, during which our Director, Fr. Jorge Luis Rojas, S.J., offered the Mass for him and the Agrupados in attendance joined in prayer. Jaime became a Congregant of the ACU on December 12, 1987. Jaime's brother, Dr. Enrique Prada. joined shortly thereafter becoming a Congregant on December 8, 1990.
Jaime worked for many years as an electrical engineer at HNGS Engineers alongside fellow Congregant Carlos Garcia. Carlos introduced Jaime to the ACU. Jaime served for over a decade in prison ministry and at the soup kitchen of the Missionaries of Charity. Most recently, until his death, he volunteered every Monday at Our Lady of Divine Providence counting charitable donations (and supplying them with pastelitos and croquetas). Jaime lived out the motto in the ACU hymn: "el descanso vivir en accion!"
Jaime was preceded in death by his loving wife Eneida. She passed away almost two years ago. They had three sons: Jaime Francisco, Michael, and David. Jaime Francisco passed away in a tragic car accident at the youthful age of 18. Jaime is survived by Michael, David and his wife Elizabeth, and their son Jaime Manuel Prada.
David Prada became a Congregant of the ACU on December 6, 1997. He worked alongside his father as an architect, and the two collaborated on many projects. David currently serves as the president of the Miami Chapter of the ACU.
Please keep the Prada family in your prayers as they process the loss of Jaime. May Our Lady bring them consolation and Our Lord give them peace. The memorial services are as follows:
