Esto Vir Group: Miami Chapter
This past Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the members of the Esto Vir Group held the fourth general meeting of the Spring 2026 semester. The activity for the evening was an artistic reflection on personal suffering. The students were asked to draw a representation of an event or period of time in their life in which they experienced suffering or some event in the near future that brings them anxiety or angst. Students were then asked to share. Students also engaged in a discussion about the Exodus 40 program and the difficulties they face with the ascetic practices, such as abstaining from various foods and drinks, foregoing or diminishing electronic use, and increasing prayer. The topic of discussion was redemptive suffering, and touched upon the nature of suffering, the purpose of suffering, Christ's suffering, and how to utilize suffering as a means of sanctification. The presentation was led by Jose Ballesteros, a senior at Belen and member of the theater club. The moderators for the group are Congregants Jay Velasco and Erik Vieira.

El pasado miércoles 25 de febrero de 2026, los miembros del Grupo Esto Vir celebraron la cuarta reunión general del semestre de primavera de 2026. Previo a la charla formativa, la actividad de la noche consistió en una reflexión artística sobre el sufrimiento personal. Se pidió a los estudiantes que dibujaran una representación de un evento o período de su vida en el que experimentaron sufrimiento, o algún evento futuro cercano que les causará ansiedad o angustia. Posteriormente, se les pidió que compartieran sus experiencias. Los estudiantes también participaron en una charla sobre el programa Éxodo 40 y las dificultades que enfrentaron con las prácticas ascéticas, como abstenerse de diversos alimentos y bebidas, evitar o reducir el uso de dispositivos electrónicos y aumentar la oración. El tema de la charla fue el sufrimiento redentor, y se abordó la naturaleza del sufrimiento, su propósito, el sufrimiento de Cristo y cómo utilizar el sufrimiento como medio de santificación. La presentación fue dirigida por José Ballesteros, estudiante de último año de Belén y miembro del club de teatro. Los moderadores del grupo son los congregantes Jay Velasco y Erik Vieira.
