Honoring Father Amando Llorente's Legacy
For the fourth year in a row Agrupados gathered at the Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in a memorial prayer service to honor the life and service of Fr. Amando Llorente, S.J. Numerous Agrupados gathered together with spouses and families to remember the life and work of Fr. Llorente and his commitment to the ACU. The service was led by Congregante Mariano Perez, the Vice-President of the ACU.
The annual pilgrimage to the final resting place of Father Amando Llorente, S.J. proved a moving occasion last Sunday. A group of Agrupación families and friends gathered to pay their respects and celebrate his life's work.
The memorial service offered a heartfelt tribute to Father Llorente's commitment to his Jesuit priesthood, his loyalty and service to the ACU community, and his unwavering dedication to the wider community. Beyond remembrance, the day provided a powerful opportunity for attendees to seek Father Llorente's intercession for their personal needs and intentions.
This annual tradition serves as a powerful testament to the enduring strength of the Agrupación. Re-established in the United States by Father Llorente SJ following the Cuban exile, the Agrupación flourished under his guidance. Chapters were established in various states, all united in their mission to forge men to spread the message of Christ.
Even in the face of subsequent challenges, the Agrupación has persevered. The shared memories and unwavering gratitude for Father Llorente's spiritual foundation continue to strengthen the bond within the community. May his memory serve as a lasting source of inspiration for all.
