Fathers and Sons United in Service: ACU Joins the Missionaries of Charity for Thanksgiving Outreach
The Agrupación Católica Universitaria (ACU) was honored to serve with the Missionaries of Charity for a Thanksgiving food distribution, serving some of Miami’s most underserved communities. Our relationship with the Missionaries of Charity dates back to the 1980s when Mother Teresa first opened a women’s shelter and soup kitchen in Miami. For decades, Fr. Llórente, our director, served as the chaplain of the Missionaries of Charity in Miami.
Eight father-and-son teams volunteered together, helping distribute food for Thanksgiving. The distribution included essential household items such as toasters, blenders, coffee makers and rice cookers.
The afternoon offered an opportunity for fathers and sons to serve side by side, deepening their bond through faith and shared service to families during this Thanksgiving season.
