ACU College Men gather in Atlanta, 9/26/26

College men from across the ACU came together in Atlanta for a memorable weekend of fellowship, service, and Catholic brotherhood surrounding the annual Atlanta Lechón. Six college men traveled from Miami, led by ACU Management Administrator Seth Caraecle, and were joined by five from Puerto Rico, led by Xavier Vera. The weekend gave the young men an opportunity to form new friendships and experience the growing fraternity among the ACU’s college apostolates.

The weekend began Friday afternoon at Stone Mountain, where the Miami and Puerto Rico groups took on the zipline and high ropes course together before making their way to the top of the mountain. After an afternoon of adventure, they joined members of the Atlanta community to help prepare the pig for the following day. That evening, students from Georgia Tech joined the group for dinner, providing an opportunity for everyone to meet and enjoy fellowship together.

On Saturday, Luis Mena from the Dominican Republic also joined the group. The college men helped set up for the Lechón and assisted with the final preparation and cooking of the pig before celebrating with the wider Atlanta ACU community. Afterward, the young men continued the fellowship by attending an Atlanta United match together and finishing the evening with a meal at Shake Shack.

More than simply a weekend of activities, the trip brought together young Catholic men from Miami, Puerto Rico, Atlanta, and the Dominican Republic around a shared faith and mission. Through serving, sharing meals, enjoying new experiences, and simply spending time together, genuine friendships began to grow. It was a beautiful example of the Catholic brotherhood the ACU seeks to foster—forming friendships that encourage young men to grow closer to Christ, support one another in their faith, and pursue lives of holiness and service.
